Have you ever wished that your bank opened on weekends? There may have been at times you might have wanted to deposit, withdraw or just do some banking activities at your bank on Saturdays but noticed that the routine is that they don't open at weekends. Well, the case is now different as some Nigerians banks do open on Saturday.

Saturday banking is a banking service offered by some banks in Nigeria to their customers who prefer banking on the weekends.

I've noticed that some banks in Nigeria have started opening on weekends but they don't open full time and it's not available at all branches. The branches that are mostly open are the ones close to shopping malls and markets or other sensitive locations in the society. They also tend to open for a few hours of the day rather than full banking hours.

Your bank may be offering Saturday banking services for free but don't expect them to open for a straight 8 am to 4 pm as they do on weekdays. Most of the ones I've seen that opened at the malls only do so as from 10 am to around 2 pm and that's for about 4 hrs.

There are actually no laws that say that banks can't open on weekends but weekends are normally seen by the society as a time of relaxing, visiting families as well as having engagements. If you however intend to also have access to your bank on weekends, you can also do by but first of all try to find out your bank's Saturday banking schedule.
