When it comes to dealing with banks in Nigeria such as opening of a new account, one of the important things banks are required by law to document is a proof of the owner's residential address. This would normally require that the bank customer at least present a document reflecting his/her current residential place of abode. This document is what serves as a proof of address for the person which the bank then copies to their files and gives back the original.A proof of address can come in various files and this is basically an utility bill that is recent and at least has the person's address attached to it before the bank caries any further transaction with the person.Things you can use as utility bill
=============
- Water bills
- Electricity bills
- Waste billAny other bill that is paid regularly and that carries your residential address would service as a sufficient proof of address. The bank may later do a personal visitation to the person's home just to verify if the details claimed by you are correct or not.
