If you have got an internet banking service with your bank, you can actually use it to purchase PHCN meter token online without having to go to the PHCN office. This is useful and more convenient for people who already have the prepaid meters and now load electricity credit using meter tokens.

What you'll need
=========
- Internet banking service
- PHCN meter number
- Cash in bank

How to do it
============
- Connect to the internet
- Visit your bank's official website
- Log in to your account using your username and password
- Go to the pay bills option
- Select PHCN
- Enter your meter number, amount you are buying and other neccesary details
- Confirm the transaction
- Enter any OTP password if necessary

If successful, the meter token will be emailed to your email address and/or phone number. You can then use the token to load it to your prepaid meter.

If you ask me, this is more convenient than going out to buy meter token at their office or banks and it only takes about 5 mins.

You have to pay for the bills from your bank account. If using internet banking, it would automatically be debited from your bank balance. I think there is also a commission of about N50.

I RECENTLY UPDATED MY E-MAIL ON INTERNET BANKING BUT NOTICED THAT THE TOKEN WAS SENT USING THE PREVIOUS EMAIL THAT IS NO LONGER BEING USED BY THE BANK. IS THERE A WAY TO RECOVER THE TOKEN AS THE AMOUNT HAS BEEN DEDUCTED FROM MY ACCOUNT

Just send an email or call Interswitch Nigeria. Have your reference number in hand and they would be able to resend it to you

Just go to your prepaid PHCN meter and enter the codes by pressing the numbers. After you have finished entering the number, just click on enter.

If your zone is not included, just use the one that says All Zones. You can find it on quickteller.com

Did you also check your email? Which platform did you use for the transaction. If it's quickteller, you'd be able to see the pin by logging into your account. You can always complain to your bank about the problem and after they confirm, they will credit back your account.

On the quick teller site, it says post-paid for all zones. I'm guessing if you use a pre-paid meter then you are just throwing your money away. Am I right in this?

If you are using a prepaid meter, your meter number will probably not get read as a post paid meter so the transaction will probably not be successful in the first place.

How did you pay? You can try checking on your payment history in the online account and you might see the meter token printed there.

The PIN consists of 20 digits and you can recharge all that you've paid for.

Check your last PHCN bill to see which company is handling your area. I think it should be Eko distribution but I'm not sure

The reference number is the same as the meter number and that's what you should give to them.

It should be sent to you by Quickteller but if you don't receive it,, then send them an email or call them by phone.
