More and more Nigerian banks are now giving people the option of opening a basic savings account with little or no documentation. You no longer have to bring in a whole lost of documents that act as proof of address or a personal id card just to open a savings account.
UBA PLC has a savings account called Freedom Basic Savings Account and this is a type of savings account that allows one to save money and also have an ATM card for withdrawal if you just provide a passport photograph and some money in your account.In fact, you don't really need to bring any money forward just to open the account because you can open it with a zero balance. You jsut need to ad money into your account before getting an ATM card. Once the account has been opened for you with just your passport photo, anyone can start making deposits into your account using your account name and number from anywhere in Nigeria.What is required for a UBA basic Freedom savings account (UBA BFSA)
=============
- Passport photo
- Filled application form
Benefits of UBA BFSA
===========
- Open the account with zero balance(no money)
- Earn interest on your savings
- No need for id card, utility bill or reference
- Account can be upgraded to a full savings account anytimeConditions of operating a UBA BFSA
==================
- You can only make a single deposit of N20,000 at a time
- Your account balance can only accept a maximum of N200,000 meaning you can't have more than N200k in your accountI've receive a lot of questions from people who want to open a savings account but don't have an id card. I guess this is a good account for people who prefer little documentation requirements.
